Controller Advice

I had to use a wireless bridge as I have the same problem with the router being at the other side of the house. I have had some issues but it is tied to my router and not the bridge or the RK Net module

Hey Bryan... I am having the same issue with my router being on the other side of the house. Would you mind giving a little more detail on how you got yours set up?

Sendo: Overall I think I do like the AC3 better. If you erase the button issue, they're quite close, however the fact the AC3 comes with remote connectivity out of the box makes me happier. As to the router being close to the tank, that's not an issue, you run an ethernet cable from your router to you AC3 (Cat5 is fairly cheap), the cable can be super long doesn't matter, my tanks are downstairs and my router upstairs, I just ran cable through the wall. As to the wireless part, I'm not sure, I really despise wireless, but since it's basically like another computer connecting to your router, I guess if they sold an ethernet "antenna" that you could plug in it could work, however I'm not terribly certain if that type of hardware exists.

I will however have a RKE for sale :D

Just out of curiosity, how much were you planning on selling your RKE for? I haven't decided yet, but just in case I decide to go that route.

I have a Linksys wireless G Bridge that I have synced up to the router. I have it sitting next to the tank and plug the ethernet cord into the bridge. Once you do that your router should assign an ip address to both the bridge and the Net module. you should then be able to access the net module anywhere within your home network. You would need to port forward the ip address of the net module in order to access it outside of your home network.

Sendo, I think the last price I had was $400, with reflects the "used" nature of it (although one part is new) but more importantly the pH probe isn't brand new, it has a few months use on it, and you do have to replace them periodically.

Bryan: that's a pretty nifty tool, and looks like something I was mentioning, a bit pricier than running CAT5e through the house, but loads easier I'd imagine!

I need to make it by your place some time and see it.... and see your tank of course. :)

You can get you own modem/router Bryan. I think but not too sure that after you get it, just call ATT and give them the model and MAC address. They can add it to their system. That's how it work with Cable modem. I haven't have DSL for a long time.

Some one say x-10? I hate those things. I've used them on multiple custom installs and every install I had to rip them out in the long run as they don't work that great with the amount of "noise" most tanks put out :(

I love the AC series :)
