Nice set of frags being offered! Have you decided what you plan to do with coral QT or dipping / Interceptor for I cling SPS? I have gotten paranoid about adding anything. Likely just need to setup a QT tank eventually. For now I just order from specific places known for more stringent protocols.

I’ve gotten to the point that I only order from a handful of folks I have gotten to know very well and who are as anal as me (us), Cody is legit and has a very good process.

I float, drip, treat with a dip, replace plugs, and observe everything and what may fall off the coral either way.

Ohh I read a post from CoralWealth when I got into the hobby and was spending a lot of time on R2R, that he lost more than 100k worth of corals in less than 24 hours.. devastating post to read! Glad that he returned to the hobby!! It’s one of the hardest decision to make!
Yeah, he was away for a few weeks and something happened- he had his brother there at his house, but still crashed his system

Here is that post for anyone interested (definitely not for the weak hearts):

Thanks for sharing this (although the timing was a bit off as it did not really make me feel warm and fuzzy about my 3 weeks vacation haha).

However, I could not find anything about the ‘why’ it happened. This was a massive event in a super short period of time, and a post mortem would have been appropriate. Otherwise, it makes me believe it had anything to do with the husbandry focused on short term growth vs long term health.

Sometimes bad things happen. I almost mini crashed several months ago due to an amino overdose, which I’m sure led to some bad bacteria taking hold and causing problems. I blame the amino supplement because it was the only thing I changed and I ramped up way too fast. My bionics test reinforced my bacterial theory- I hadn’t added anything else (live stock wise), so it wasn’t an outside source.

I’m pretty sure he blames some bacterial infection. His mariculture was a separate system, so I don’t know if something was introduced that way or not.

Are you still using RM? Megamino?

Yes and yes. Just way down from the 6ml ramp I did. I was testing with organo religiously, too. It’s these bone headed mistakes that make me crazy. Why, just why, did I do that???!

As much as i enjoy the results at times, RM can be like playing with fire. I had a similar experience when I mixed up my potassium for flouride.
