Could use a sea hare for couple weeks for my ugly phase - too much hair algae.
I am in Union City. I can return or pass to the next person.

I’ve also found Mexican turbo snails (the big golf-ball sized ones) are good at taking care of hair algae, when you can get them.

It’s a chore but manual removal also works pretty well on hair algae, at least to knock it back. Siphon hose, thumb over end of hose to pull off the algae and suck it down the hose in one motion. You can do with a water change or just into a filter sock in your sump then clean the sock. It will grow back but you are gradually depleting whatever nutrients it needs to grow as you remove it.
