I've wanted to do it for awhile and figured this is active enough to start on. We could program in an "auto dead" feature where if a member hasn't logged in for a couple years, BARcode marks all their DBTC as dead so we don't get the update bumps.

Maybe MIA rather than dead? Leaves room for possibility but won’t suggest it’s alive and well either?

I like that. I've seen people bring corals from ancient times back to the club, so it's not guaranteed dead

Constant pings to people who haven't been on in ages can add confusion to which threads are actually active, which you can't see right now if you just look at the "last updated" threads. Plus you end up with a thread that's more Barcode than human.

But without those periodic messages bumping threads to the top, I feel that threads would get forgotten or lost faster. I think these messages sometimes get people to look for the coral in their tanks

If we added a MIA option it could send pm to those people rather than post on the thread. That way they get a reminder, but we don’t all see it and get confused
