High Tide Aquatics

Derek's 225g - Magnifica / SPS Reef

Sadly, my Magnifica Anemone is gone. @under_water_ninja held it for me last couple days and is going to ship today to @H2OPlayar along with some rubble and a few frags for his new tank.

I made the mistake of adding a new rock (from the @Darkxerox dentist breakdown) and put it too close to the mag's "pedestal" where he's been happy the last 2 years. Well he "felt" the rock, grabbed it, and started moving. I spent Friday/Saturday adjusting corals and rocks to avoid the stings, waiting for his foot to be only attached to a single rock again. Once I noticed that, I pulled him out and put him in the frag tank, swapping the frags over to the DT:

Really saddened by this, but also kind of relieved. I knew the day would come - just feel bad for my clownfish, they've been a spawning pair living in this guy since I got it. I plan to get a BTA and put the clowns into my frag tank or sump with it, but never will add another anemone to the DT.

It's nice to have a bunch of real estate back, though - picked up one of @Coral reefer 's rock structures from Kenny and will be making some aquascape adjustments.

What a cool creature, it will be missed! Hopefully it makes the trip to Vegas, I know it will have a good home there with Michael if it survives.

Bye friend!
Enjoy and be proud of your success!
Most aquarium keepers are not so skilled

Got him off the rock, the rock was about 10lbs or so, so @H2OPlayar will save some money on shipping, lol! Plus it will be so much easier to ship and much less potential of damage!
@H2OPlayar please keep us posted on its development! Glad to hear the nem is staying within the club; if you ever decide it's gotten too big for your tank, I'd be happy to buy it back to keep it within the club.
