How well does that work?

It worked extremely well. Those photos were from some planted tank folk in Singapore...and


we all know how cold and foggy Singapore is

Tank got down to 22°C over night. That is condensation on that tank lol. Surely we don't need (want) a tank that cool, but it shows you the potential.

NOTE: in the DIY photos, you need to add water into the tub.

I read it somewhere on RC that it doesn't work too well and it's not energy efficient.

Well, the RCer has that photograph to go against him. 22­°C in hot humid singapore..I call that very successful. Energy efficient ..not sure.

Do you know how much flow he has going through that thing?

flow can be anything to get the chilling effect. I imagine you can hook it up through a return pump or closed loop and have the fridge turn on with a temp controller. Given a typical planted tank, the canister was around 300 GPH
