Do zoas multiply by fission?

Do zoas multiply by splitting into two? I have a zoa that looks like it's doing that. Here's a crappy pic:

The head on the right has 2 mouths and looks like it's ripping itself into 2.

Very interesting! I have not seen that, and typically they do not split like that. I wonder if it is a genetic mutation?

no... not by fission... though there have been occasional oops with double mouths.

Not an oops. Its literally ripping itself in 2. It started out with 1 mouth.

interesting... I've seen them have 2 mouths and stayed that way... never a complete fission. Would love an update on this one from time to time.

Maybe try a time lapse video. Take a picture of it every day at the same time.

Thats a good idea! I'll do that. Here's a slightly better pic. I think I'll need to take out the DSLR to take better pics.
