Dosing Kalk with Kamoer X1 Pro T

I am planning on learning how to dose with the Kamoer doser and am looking for recommendations. The Total Kalk daily dosing is approximately 600ml.
  • Kamoer has a limit of 24 doses daily. I can choose either 25ml/24hrs or 50ml/12hrs (night time)
  • Kamoer minimum continuous dosage is 1ml/minute which would be 1440ML a day, too much for my system. What I can do is use a switch to power it on/off 10hrs a day.
Please let me know if there are any other configurations I might not know about. Would be nice if the doser could run cotinuosly for a set period of time.

Is kalk your only source of alk and calcium? If you're doing 2-part also you can lower that dosage. If you do set it for 10hrs a day, set it for daytime because that's when alk and calcium gets consumed and not dosing it at night will help stabilize your levels. Option C is add more corals to uptake more calcium :)

I am also adding AFR at 4ML/Day for trace elements.

When I set doser from 24 hours to 12 hrs it also limits the amount you can dose. 24 hrs =24 dosing tiems, 12 hrs = 12 dosing times. Currently I have it set up for 24 doses over a 24hr period at 25ml/dose. If I changed it to 12hrs/that would be 50ml/dose. I wasn't sure dosing so much at one time for my 40g was good.

I have an X1 Pro on my frag tank dosing kalk, and I have it set to continuous dose in a sequence. My min is 0.1ml/minute. Where do you read that limit?

My sequence:

  • Lights on around 8am
  • 9am ramp down to a small continuous 0.1ml dose, just to keep everything guaranteed primed
  • 6pm begin ramp up
  • 8pm lights fully off
  • 8pm ramp up to 2ml/min
  • 4am ramp up to 3ml/min (increasing to offset the overnight gradual decline in pH)
Regarding powering on/off, I'm not 100% sure how it handles power on/off yet. I think at a minimum when powering on it doesn't restart where it was. I think it restarts off, and just waits until the next time period begins.

Eg in mine if it reset at 9:01am I think it wouldn't start pumping again until 18:00 (6pm).

I'm so far happy with it though. Took me a bit to understand the scheduling, but now I like it. I do wish it could do some sort of slowly increasing curve (eg dose 70ml from 8pm to 8am, increasing the output slowly every hour). However it's good enough.

If my tank evaporated more I'd be dosing more.

Hi Rich,

Your notes really helped and It’s what I am looking for! I just need to figure out how to configure the auto speed into a plan.

Watching youtube videos I really don’t see much mention on the auto speed. I thiught 1ml/min was the minimum because it would throw out an error”. If I put .1 , “you can only enter a numner” see image. This is in continuous mode where I see the error.

I think I got it! LOL

@richiev thanks for taking the time and showing your schedule!

If I enter .1 I get the error "only can enter the number"

If I enter 0.1, then app accepts the value.
