We're looking to down grade the lights on the DT. Since the DT completely softie oriented (not a single LPS to be found) there are a couple of reasons to down grade from LEDs:
1) The current light is too intense for mushrooms. ricordia, zoas, and some palys. (need to add some colour that pops to the tank)
2) The lights would be able to remain on longer.
Our nano has the Nova Extreme T5s and we’re really pleased with it. There is a RBTA in the DT….so would it be more prudent to go with the Nova Extreme Pro (6x54wt = 324wt [3x10,000k + 3xActinic]) or the regular Nova Extreme (4x54wt = 216wt [2x10,000k + 2xActinic])? The DT is 48”L x 22”H. The other question is if we go with the Nova Extreme Pro would we be in the same boat again with light that is too intense for the corals/polyps we want to introduce?
Or is there another lighting option to consider that would meet our needs?
