Finally: found pump for 5G container to refill reservoir

Well,
I had posted a while ago looking for a pump to fit inside a 5 gallon water container. I finally found one that works.

I was at pet smart and found this one by Top Fin. It did not fit inside the opening until I clipped off some plastic where the suction cups attach. Keep in mind the maximum head height is 2.5 feet. So it is not perfect but if I put the contained on a chair it will make the head height about 2ft. It will flow slowly so as not to blast the fish or corals.

Most importantly it was perfect for refilling my ATO reservoir. Before i was pouring water into a bucket and then pumping it into the reservoir.

It also has an on/off switch so you don’t have to unplug it to turn it off. I think I paid about $25 or so.

I've been looking for something like this. It doesn't look like it can get every drop from the jug, correct? Leaves maybe 1/2 gallon worth of water?

Minijet pumps work as well for the 5g jugs, you just have to remove a plastic cover and it fits through the opening.

Yes. It gets up to about a 1 inch from the bottom.
