Flat worm id?

It kills bristle worms too, so there can be a lot of dying animals. Big reason why water changes and carbon is so important to using flat worm exit. That's quite the infestation. The right wrasse would help but I have mixed feelings. I like the biological solutions, but oh man is that a lot of flat worms.

I have no fish in this system so not against it if it works without high likely hood of harming cuc.

Flatworm exit will kill off all your micro brittle stars as mentioned before. You probably have them too even if you don't see them currently (the rock from the office breakdown had stars for sure).

Better to treat now and be around to respond quickly, or dip everything before you transfer everything into the big tank.

To keep my main tank from getting infected from my nano, I put all rocks in a bucket with a power head and heater plus flatworm exit, let it sit a few days. Use a white bucket too so you can swish and turkey baste since you can see what's coming loose.

Since you're fish free you won't have as many issues with chemicals getting released from dying fauna.

My current plan is to do nothing.
And certainly not feed the corals in that tank until issue is resolved.

I feed cuc a sheet of nori once a week.

I will just Watch things closely for a few days if it gets any worse I will come back to it. If i needed to add something I would wanna do it without putting fish at risk for sure.

I wouldn’t wanna let it get to the point of seeing 1000s. Right now i saw maybe 200 Just a estimate.
 
oh, i believe it'll get to thousands if you don't do anything. definitely read up to correctly id what flatworm you have and devise a course of action.

if you don't have much livestock, maybe consider a velvet nudibranch which are obligate planaria feeders. you just need to cut down flow as they love to become smoothies and go into overflows.
 
If you have that many on the glass you for sure have them all over your corals. Look closely on the under side of your corals. They are harmless until they aren’t. Too much of them will bother your corals.

I used to have them in my Reefer 525. Had thousands of them. They especially like crawling on shrooms. I ended up dipping as many corals as I could in Bayer. I tried Blue Velvet Nudis, but they didn’t work. Springeri, Target Mandarins and Melanurus wrasse did the trick tho.

Your frag tank is only 50g right? Looks bare bottom as well. I’d recommend dipping your corals and rocks and do a huge water change. Then add the Springeri and Target Mandarin. Skip the Melanurus wrasse since you don’t have sand.

You want to take this six line wrasse that came out of that tank? It's in my frag tank right now - I am sure he is the reason the population wasn't out of control in the dentist tank...

mine changed color. started off light beige, then now dark brown. got a yellow wrasse and springeri damsels and number seems to be going down, not eliminated though. yellow striped possum wrasse did nothing. surprisingly, the ones in my sump xenia fuge don't seem to propagate as much as the ones in my DT.

Feeding does contribute, it increases nutrients in the water.

I wouldn’t mind but can't add him right now. I have a six line already in sps tank and two wrasse already in nem tank. With fallow period just don't have anywhere safe to currently put another six line. I would definitely take it if still on offer around frag swap time range. Thats when fallow period ends just before swap.

Yea I have a peice in my nem tank zero fw in it. Only giving a full description of what was in the tank. Only wish now i would have grabbed one more small peice for sps tank lol.
