Fluconazole experience

Hello,
I recently found some tufts of bryopsis in my tank. This stuff is a pain to remove. Even if I remove it manually, I can't guarantee small bits will not spread. Thinking about just using fluconazole now rather than waiting for it to blow up. Anyone here have any experience with it?

I did it like 7 years ago in my 190. It worked as it was supposed to. If I recall tho it did kill some of the bio. It’s been a long time. I don’t remember the side effects.

Used at half of prescribed dose thrice now. No issues

Some algae I liked died off though

I don’t think it’s ideal if you can avoid it, but if your tank is small then there’s really not much that eats bryopsis. It worked for me since I can’t pop a foxface in there

My foxface, gem tang, and purple tang show no interest. My lawnmower blenny loves hair algae, but not this stuff.

I’ve used it a few times over the years for bryopsis. Never had a problem. Sometimes 1 dose does the trick, sometimes a second dose right after the first course is completed if there’s some left.

I've never had a problem using it. Especially for bryopsis added a air stone for extra oxygen. It's best to dissolve it in a actual cup of water first salt or rodi verse trying to drop powder into tank. That just dumping it in pisses off corals it lands on. In water didn't have the same results.

I also was using filter pads/ socks to catch the alage may have to change them more often. I left skimmer running just removed the collection cup so stuff stayed in tank about a week.

I tried natural but that stuff is easy only thing worked for me in end was reef flux.
