fragging toxins?

I keep both sps and leathers in the same tank. Never had a problem and I've cut the leathers in the tank for fragging. Of course I do 20% weekly water changes...

And you used to use non dechlored tap water as well...another thing not recommended IMO your post needs a stronger caveat

Did you run carbon or have a skimmer going then? I try and do my fragging outside of the tank where I can flush off the sliming bad stuff

I do both. If I am going to do a lot of fragging I reload a fresh carbon fill in my reactor the day before. I also frag exclusively out of tank in containers I dump afterwords. I also rinse the frags prior to putting back into the tank. A brief baster while in a clean bowel of tank water is what I use for that.
