Glass cleaning question

Hey guys,

I have a glass aquarium and am currently cleaning the coraline algae off with a razor blade, but am afraid of cleaning too close to the silicone as I don't want to cause a leak. I have heard of people using metal paint scrapers, but was wondering what you guys use.

I used a Kent scraper in my last tank. It was really great, and I highly recommend it.

My current tank is bigger and less accessible, though, so I've switched to a mightmagnets cleaner. It works well, but I still touch up corners and the sand line with the kent scraper. (actually, I have two. one long handled one short)

Best idea even invented was this simple device, Easy blade. I use mine with a magnavore and it worked wonders. No more putting my hands in the tank with a razor blade =)

Easy blade good!

Don't worry too much about the silllycone. Unless you slice deep in the join you have nothing to worry about. :D

I've always cleaned right up to the silicon with a plastic or metal aquarium class scraper. I probably would not do it with a razor blade though. Other than that your fine IMO. The Easy blades are very cool...
