oh, the 100 and 300 are made up numbers.

if you choose one dimension, the other is calculated for you.

w=100

I think I've got it! You can tell I'm quite the techie! :bigsmile:

How's the winter treating you? I drove one of those Subarus. It was only the 2.5, but still nice. Didn't really like the toggle switches on the steering wheel though.

Those are paddle shifters. It is todays sad excuse for a stick shift. I like it a little better then the tiptronic transmissions that some of the other automatics have. You know the one that tries to achieve that harmony between a stick and an automatic.

IMHO the only thing that comes close to a stick is the sportomatic that my old Porsche has. Essentially it is a stick shift without a clutch. Utilizes a torque converter.

BTW I thought the 2.5 was a little slugish especially on a hill.

I tried the paddle shifters. Seemed like something I could get used to. The car I drove had vol and channel swithes that protruded out a little from the steering wheel (what I was talking about). I like the flatter controls better. I told T I had test drove cars and I got that evil eye again. So I'll prob stick with the 530. Hopefully a lot of the expected repairs are behind us now.
