How do you recycle old sand?

You can get 12% hydrogen peroxide from beauty supply stores.

How about sticking a garden hose all the way to the bottom of your sand container and letting the water run slowly to overflow your container. Kinda like a chromatography column.... Tony can explain :D

Or kinda like sparging your all grain.... some homebrewer can explain :D

If you have an RODI setup, just use your waste water to sparge your sand :D

except....the junk of interest does not want to partition into the mobile phase!

Well turn up the rate until you fluidize the bed, then let the different densities clear out the crud :D
