You can get 12% hydrogen peroxide from beauty supply stores.

How about sticking a garden hose all the way to the bottom of your sand container and letting the water run slowly to overflow your container. Kinda like a chromatography column.... Tony can explain

Or kinda like sparging your all grain.... some homebrewer can explain

If you have an RODI setup, just use your waste water to sparge your sand
