It will be the best 30 dollars you’ve spent in this hobby. How long and what do you know about saltwater and corals ?Hi im supporting members now and im new to the hobby.
Got a picture of those nems your talking about (someone would likely be able to id them)? It's probably not a good idea to pass things along that could cause problems for someone that doesn't know what they are getting themselves into. Thanks alot for actually mentioning that on your post it's commendable.I have 2 extra pieces of live rock that are each about 10”x6”x5” that I don’t need for my tank start. They are cycled and have life on them, including potentially some hitchhiking anemones that I don’t know enough about to ID, so use caution. Per the original terms of the PIF offering they are free to supporting members and I can bring them to the CFM in a bucket.
Thanks for jumping into the deep end and signing up come by the bar table to chat with fellow memebers at cfm. Or plan to attend the up coming frag swap. You will find us a nice and supportive group.Hi im supporting members now and im new to the hobby.
I took a minute to research these, and one is definitely Aiptasia based on its behavior of retracting into a crevice when poked. The others I can't tell if they're Majano or something similar. Here is a not-great picture:Got a picture of those nems your talking about (someone would likely be able to id them)?
I haven't seen any on the rocks I am keeping, but I'll be keeping an eye out. I ordered "JoesJuice" to address them if I see any.Do you have those on the rocks you used in your current tank you recently started as well?
Looks like Majanos for sureHere is a picture of the rocks:

I have been in the hobby for two months. I would say i know just the basic and some beginner soft corals thats pretty much and by the way i just adding pods to the tankIt will be the best 30 dollars you’ve spent in this hobby. How long and what do you know about saltwater and corals ?
I personally agree with this given where your tank currently is and how long it's been running. I have some extras live rock in santa clara zero pest anemones if you wanna try again don't toss the rock just dry it out.@Cspencer
Those rocks should be removed from the aquarium
They have the worst reef herpes: majano and aiptasia
dry out the rocks until next summer to be safe
Algae blenny will eat other foods not just algae. Ick can live on rocks. So be careful what you add.Anyone have a live rock with algae on it? I have an algae blenny in QT and I'm afraid it's not getting enough to eat.
Get some nori and rubberband it around a piece of pvc.Anyone have a live rock with algae on it? I have an algae blenny in QT and I'm afraid it's not getting enough to eat.
I definitely am inclined to keep the rocks I do have in the aquarium as is. The tank is full of life even though it’s only 2 weeks old. I’ve identified so many good hitchhikers already on them, I’d hate to give that up.The rocks were from the highend lawyer’s aquarium. They were seeded for over 5 years. I wouldn’t kill the rock since it’s a small aquarium. Inspect carefully and kill at will. You can always reset but you can’t add 5+ years.
