Easier to clean up those areas when I do my weekly maintenance unless I'm trying to suck out wayward loose bubble algae.

I've either owned, used or had the opportunity to see used pretty much every skimmer on that list and non compair to the Elos 1000 I'm running on a friends tank right now. Very small design but VERY efficient. The design of the down draft and the venturi design where well thought out.

I'll let you know on the new kid on the block (the one fragfarmer is selling). I've got a few friends that picked them up (not from Eric, these came with pumps).
