Little Sand-Like Spots Covering Rock?

Last week I noticed sand on one of the largest rocks in my tank, so I assumed that my clownfish were "tidying up" like they normally do with the sand. So I grabbed my turkey baster and tried to blow it off, but it wouldn't come off. I reached my hand down and felt the sand-like things, and they felt like little bumps. I just decided to let it go away on its own. Today I was looking at it, and it has seemed to be all over the rock. I got the rock with a BTA purchase from Aquatic Collection. I could tell the rock was established, because the rocks was 100 % covered in purple coralline algae. The only thing I can think of is maybe dieing clumps of cells of the coralline algae. Anyone else experienced this? I've had the rock for 3 months or so. I can't take a picture right now since the lights are off. Does anyone have an idea of what this might be?
There is nothing buy a few anemones on the rock, and the rock is home to my clownfish. Doesn't seem to be effecting anything in the tank and doesn't seem to be spreading to any other rocks.

Way to small to be snails. If Gresham thinks that it is deal coralline, then I guess I'll have to go with that because that is what I saw thinking to. Thanks! :)

The spots didn't come off after I scrubbed them really hard with a toothbrush but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they hatch.

Your probably right about them not being eggs ;)

Can you snap a pic?
