Looking for a connector that splices into existing wire.

A while back my buddy had his friend install a stereo in his car and he had a connector that crimped in to an existing wire and added another connection. It was sort or like a pvc tee except wires = pvc. The "friend" wouldn't tell us where to get it, I'd found them before online but don't recall the name of it. Anyway, if you've got an idea what it is (brand or name of the connector) I'd appreciate your assistance.
