Loving my new slow cooker

Steve - Korean-style ribs

One package of short ribs

One cup of soy
One cup of brown sugar
Half cup of water

The recipe called for 4 jalapenos but I substitued with dried pepper flakes

I messed with it and added a little alcohol for smoothness on my part (only because I like it) sioe shing wine or however you spell it

Mashed taters is probably the run of the mill version. I got lazy and added garlic powder outside of butter, milk (wasn't decadent enough to add hvy. cream or half an half), salt, and pepper

Tony you've never had mead???? Wow - mead is awesome

Shaoxing wine. Good stuff :D

Lot of times people substitute sherry if they can't find shaoxing.

I've gotten it at Ranch 99 before.

Eileen, you can do a Chinese brisket stew.

Big chunks of brisket and beef tendons. Soy, rock sugar, ginger, star anise, shaoxing. I like to throw in some dried red pepper too.

If you want something leaner than brisket( :O ), you can use top blade chuck.

Serve that with some green onions over rice or those big fat rice noodles.

:D
