Manufacturer that sells 60”Lx24”Wx20”H? Aqua Japan feedback?

Anyone know any manufacturers that make a 60”x24”x20” standard? Without having to go custom? I found a tank with those dimensions made by Aqua Japan but need to look into them more. I’d have to drive down to Anaheim to get it which isn’t too bad. Anyone ever had one of these tanks? Looking for a bigger tank for my living room. I would need tank only since I’m thinking about getting an aluminum extrusion stand from Alufab. Don’t want to go any bigger than this.

I’m pretty sure I’m limited to this option, but thought I’d ask and see if anyone knows of anything else.

Another one?!?!?! Lol...

@SupraSaltyReefer you're a bad influence bro..hahaha
I just feel like I need “the one” for my living room lol. People don’t see the other two because they’re in my bedroom. I got the Fiji cube for the living room but I’ve been back and forth about setting it up. I had decided I wasn’t and then changed my mine to keeping it and now I’m not sure again haha. I wish I could go 6ft but wouldn’t fit where I want it to be perpendicular to floor joists. Plus any bigger and I’ll have to actually worry about the weight on the floors.

My other option is a Waterbox INFINIA Frag 155.5. Has the foot print I want but it’s only 16” and I’d prefer a little more if it’s going to be a 5ft long tank.

There is the IM 170 but that’s 30”W which is too wide for me and almost 22”H. I don’t want anything over 20”H. My current display tank is 18”H and I’m very happy with it

I'd like to say I did not have any influence into his decision........lol

but since I'm here......from the AquaJapan tanks I've seen in the past I wasn't impressed. Qualitywise I would say they are on the same level as the older CadLights and SCA Aquariums. If you are looking for "the one" I don't think this would be it bro.

The Waterbox Infinia Frag series is my favorite line of tanks that WB makes. If you prefer shallow tanks this is the ideal setup and looking at your torches and corals from the top down is the best view!

If you are looking for "the one" why limit your self to pre-made tanks? It wouldn't hurt to get a quote. Check out Mode Aquariums (https://www.modeaquariums.com/) they are in SoCal and a lot of LFS gets their system tanks from them. They are lesser known to consumers. Nick @nlopedota from Fishy Business recently got some tanks from them https://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/temporary-closure.36525/post-535351

Also Inappropriate Reefer's 135G display tank is made by them too.

I’ve seen the water boxes in person and I really like them. Not too surprised the Aqua Japan tanks are super quality. Not seeing too many reviews on them and it seems like they’re on the cheaper side for a reason.

I was looking for pre-made because I feel like custom would just take too long. But there’s no rush honestly just me being impatient lol. I looked at Nicks post and they look nice. Reached out to them for a quote for what I’m looking for. I should probably reach out to a couple places and get some prices if I’m going to consider going custom.

I reached out to Mode Aquariums and they gave me a pretty good quote. I did some more digging on them and they have terrible reviews. They also told me they wouldn’t be able to start my tank until July :(

Look at SCA aquariums too, I am really happy with my 120 from them.

SCA Tank
For a non custom one close to what you want. The extra height is a plus in my mind, more room for the fish to swim over the rocks, which is what they like in the reef.

Waterbox and IM are great, not sure about Aqua Japan but if there are negative reviews or they are overly cheap, I'd be wary.

Too tall for me unfortunately :( I’ve had a 22”H tank in the past and hated it. I’m short lol.

Waterbox is looking like the best choice. IM tanks are too nice but don’t want to go more than 24”W. The Aqua Japan tank is $1080 after 20% tariff they added on lol which makes me very wary

Get long tweezers, a step ladder, and take your shirt off and grab some goggles/mask for deep maintenance. Get the tall tank. I have a 30" tall tank on a 4' stand and love it. I shouldn't, but I do stand on the handle as a tall step to get deep in my tank. Some balance required, lol.

Long tweezers

I was looking for tank only because I want to get an Alufab stand. I saw the one @finalphaze987 has on Fiji cube and I love it
After experiencing an aluminum stand I don't think I'd go back to anything else. There built tough and weigh next to nothing. Mounting stuff on it is a breeze and it leaves room for customization if needed.

Alufab had the best service of the ones I did research on. Mike was very easy to work with incase you decide to go with them.

Unless you plan on moving the stand around alot during the build, I'd skip on casters...itll save you $200 for something you'd only use when the tanks empty.

Yeah they also look really nice too. Noted on the casters, will skip those

Yeah it's the stand height that actually is the bigger thing that stops me. My Cade is about 24 inches tall, but the tall height of the stand is what keeps my hands out of it since I need a ladder or bench. Make sure you factor this in when you look around.

Thats the only issue with my 40 gallon so far crazy tall stand makes me use ladder to reach it. Definitely something to consider for a larger tank. The depth of tank isn’t as big of a issue as the stand height to me. Maybe a shorter stand could also be the easiest answer to balance things out with tank depth. (Would just need to know sump and skimmer size to ensure min room inside stand.)

There's a much easier solution to these issues you all have: simply be born taller. This was my approach.
I think you're on to something here....if we get a group buy going on some growth hormone, in the long run, we'll all have larger tanks.

Whos down? Lol

My tank/stand sits at 60" high and the rim comes right under my armpit. I've thought of getting a taller tank in the 26-28ish tall range, but I would need a stool.

5'6" here with a 26" tall tank. While it's not always fun reaching down, I think the height is visually worth it. I have a variety of long tools and tongs to help with stuff at the bottom and my dining table bench is near the tank so not a hassle to use. Heck, I want a 36" tall tank if I were ever to do a full custom.

Boom!
