Melting Magicians

A Magician Zoa I had bought at the BAYMAC was doing great in my tank until a few days ago. All the polyps on the frag were shriveled and spitting out their guts (that grey stuff that looks like piles of worms.) I'm not sure why because all the water parameters were fine and everything else in the tank looked in top shape. What could have been some of the reasons this happened so I can't prevent it from happening next time I add corals like that?
Thanks! :)

Could it be related to the heatwave? It hit 108 where I'm at and AC was running non stop to keep the house below 85 for most of the day.

This started a few days before the heatwave. I forgot to mention that when I woke up this morning none of the polyps were even on the piece of rock they were fragged on to.

I placed them half way up the tank in my 34g RSM with 110w 50/50 on a giant rock that all my other zoas are on. They weren't in contact with any anemones or other corals. It was near a green mushroom, but the mushroom can't reach it.
Do you think that the particular frag I got was fragged just before the BAYMAC and didn't have time to heal? All the other frags I got from that frag booth are doing fine and seem to love my tank. Are magician zoas more sensitive/delicate than other zoas?

They are a bit sensitive for me. Zoas/palys can just be weird. They sometimes for no apparent reson at all.
