Problem with any sort of "deals" that you might get is that so many items, ones that would actually sway you to buy it i.e. 10% off something $40 vs $400, are subject to MAP pricing, which means a big F.U. to someone maybe looking into a new light or something and wanting some special deal to make the purchase.
I get the arguments with MAP and what not, but considering how many sales are done on Black Friday and what not not because someone needs the item but "damn that's a good deal" it strikes me as odd that these companies would hold such a frigging strangle hold on the pricing. Although IIRC, a couple of the larger named ones did allow some things to go on sale during Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
