Metal Halide brand question

The Giesemann ballast runs the bulbs at a totally different temperature than my Aquamedic ballasts.

I didn't know that was possible. I thought ballasts just limit the amount of electricity running through the light setup. If so, what kind of ballast can anyone recommend to limit the accelerated loss of blue tint from all the bulbs I'm using.
