So it begins. I put the stand outside (still need to skin the stand and put doors etc this is just the skeleton) with the 180 on top and the 75 gallon sump below. Filled the 180 all the way as well as the overflows to check for any leaks over the next few days. Had some scares along the way but you have helped settle those fears. Got a majority of the return line glued just needs to be painted black. The back of the tank will be painted using black PlastiDip. Today spent the day cutting some wood like the 3/4" plywood it sits on for both tanks, plumbing etc.
Still left to do:
Drain lines
Paint back PVC black
PlastiDip back glass
Install Acrylic baffles in sump
Skin the cabinet, install barn doors, paint
Test system full run (skimmer, pump, etc)
And whatever else I can't think of....exhausted it's been a long day

Stay tuned......

Not quite. I had a larger Acrylic tank that was almost the same size but was 30" wide instead of 24". The acrylic tank had a tiny crack about 1/8" at the very top front that I just couldn't do it. Lol.

Ya I'm laying on the couch and took 2 Tylenol to stop the throbbing in my back as we just brought it into the house to finish the cabinet & plumbing. It is GIANT
Giant...
Size is relative
there is a 450 and 2: 300
The fish will enjoy the 30” height

The tank pictured is 30” tall, 24”x66”

Speedy recovery to ya

Well I'm glad to hear they will like the 30" that was honestly one concern I had was that it was too deep for reef tank. But after having it setup in the house it's like a perfect size and fits right on the wall that is the same length.
Btw what is that yellow/blue fish on the left there. Looks beautiful.

Hey maybe you can help with this- UV should I plumb it through a manifold and then the out go straight into the tank?

I hate manifolds BTW

Plasi-dipped the back of tank, finished plumbing last night. Water test tank outdoors for about 4 days. Filling up in house now, so far everything great no leaks no issues. Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way especially when I panicked!!!
A very special THANK YOU to @Arvin R for being the guy I leaned on, bugged like hell when I really wanted to overthink everything, he gave me that extra boost of confidence on doing things right. Thank you Arvin!! I owe you! Can't wait to buy some beautiful corals from you to fill this beast!
Next up draining, mixing saltwater, sand, rockwork and finishing the stand by enclosing it and staining the finish wood and of course waiting for the cycling. Stay tuned!!
