MY ANEMONE BELW UP! OMG!

My GBTA like blew up. After I removed it from the back tank wall (very gently causing no harm) and relocated the anemone it wouldn't open up as much. It moved down to the front of the tank but couldn't get a good grip on a rock. A few minutes ago I was going to move it to a breeder box for guppies to get it to open up since it would be closer to the light, but when I lifted it (and the rock it was attached to) up about 5-7 tentacles fell off and there was those stringy anemone guts coming out of it in a bunch of places. It was slightly ripped in some areas and a few of the tentacles are ripped. The weird thing is that I found it had not one, not two, but THREE MOUTHS! I love the color of this GBTA and haven't seen any others like it before and I want to do whatever I can to save it. It was the healthiest anemone in the tank. No signs of bleaching or hunger, but I did find a few hermit crab shells it had swallowed coming out of the places that were ripped open. I know there isn't much to do, but what can I do to help it?

Sounds like you ripped it in half trying to move it around to much. GL on the healing process never seen one come back from being torn in half like that

When I came home from BAYMAC I found it dieing. It's oral disc had ripped off and everything was melting like when they die so I removed it from the tank and turned the skimmer on. I'm not sure what happened to it. It was fine two days ago when I moved it.

when I lifted the rock up it wasn't me that caused the tentacles to fall off and the anemone guts to come out. The tentacles were already off and it already had the guts coming out of it.

I think they tend to live longer if you don't try to move them around a lot or ever.

I was once told by an wise old reefer " Nems are good to add to a tank early on, by experenced reefers. Reasons being that they can and will move on thier own to a place they are happy and it is VERY hard to control where they move with hurting them, or casuing yourself headaches since after you move them they will just move again"

The whole moving nems, and trying to "control" where they go has basically turned me away from them. I know you want them for hosting reasons, but clowns don't need a nem to host :) My clown hosts in a duncan. I know other's host in frogspawn or torches. Heard of some hosting in a candycane, and even in a place as crazy as a cap! yes, a clown hosting in SPS.

After rethinking if I should have moved the nem or not I decided I shouldn't have. I'll never move a nem again unless it is about to get sucked into an intake. Besides, none of my roses move after about a week or so. They have all been in the same spot since a week or so after I moved them into the tank.

Just an FYI one of my nems just moved after almost 2 years in the same place, so a week or 2 doesn't mean they are set forever.....

I just got a nem, I wasn't happy with where it went, but it moved to a more visible place once it got used to the flow of the tank.

As for clowns hosting things, add powerheads to the list.
