FTS (Jul 2017): 9th year anniversary for this little unfiltered tank:
Oh, and I'd like to thank Photobucket for not allowing 3rd party hosting...and asking $399 for the function to be restored
FTS (Dec 2015): 7-1/2 years...still put-putting along:
FTS (July 2015): 7 years...and counting. Still same ol' non-filtered simple setup:
FTS (April 2014): Reclaimed much of my sand bed and can now clean the glass/vacuum more easily:
FTS (Feb 2014): Tank survived unattended for 2 weeks while I was on vacation with no fatalities (thank goodness). After a week or so of pampering it's back up to it's former condition
FTS (Dec 2013): Finally trained the Clowns to pose properly...the silly Hermit way up top, not so much
FTS (Jul 2013):
First photo (five years ago, Jul 2008):
In brief, this is a 12g AIO Cadlights 'mixed reef' that I wanted to run as simply as possible. It has no mechanical or chemical filtration, no skimmer...just the stock return pump, device, a heater, a thermometer and a pair of 'Pet Bottle' ATOs. Saturated Kalkwasser is used to supply calcium and maintain alkalinity. Only additive used is Kent Iodine (a few drops once a week). Lighting is a DIY LED setup using mostly LEDGroupBuy components.
