As I had set up my 50 gallon quarantine tank, I am running into gargling sound that I cannot see to suppress. Anyone have a solution?

I’ve tried several method and none seem to work. I created a video

I only have a return and a drain and no emergency drain.

Look up how to set up a Durso stand pipe if you have only one drain. They're a little finicky at times. Another option would just to go full siphon where it's just a straight drain pipe below the water surface, then tune it with a gate valve to match the flow rate of your return pump.

Have you tried venting it yet by sliding down a piece of airline tube down that small hole? Should be about 3/16 to match air tubing.. Sometimes you need to slide the tubing down a ways to find the sweet spot also adding an air control valve they sell with bubblers for further adjustments.. Sometimes it takes a few airline holes unless its a larger hole to begin with.. Or the infamous Maggie Muffler !

Air needs a place to escape. Drill a small hole in the top of the elbow. Keep increasing its size until the noise lessens or goes away. You can also try airline tubing and a valve. But I have always had success with drilling holes until quiet.
I came here to say this.

Yeah I tried that. The issue is that the water line increases inside the tank and goes over an inch over the overflow. But let me try shoving the airline a bit further down. That I did not try.

Well hot dang…. This worked. Without excessively modifying the pipines. I did make the vent hold a little bigger. Then shoved a tubing down the down pipe and assembled it and…. There is not silence.. thank you.

I think i sea more clearly now maybe ! That small existing hole was a siphon break? otherwise the hole should have been directly over the down tube in the elbow so the airline could slide easily straight down..

Yep. I placed it for as a siphon break. But I guess if wouldn’t have needed it, if I did it correctly in the first place. .

Appreciate your help.
