Does anyone have two of these? Can they run anti sync? I know that Nero 5s can do it - but cannot find any information on the 3s

When I added my second Nero 5 I got an additional mode “child”. And you can set the sync degree and max intensity. I think it would be the same for the 3s. Bigger issue might be finding some in stock, unless they’ve restocked them recently.

I have 2 Nero 5. I haven’t had vortechs but have used jabao and an icecap gyre.

I like the myAI app, it connects every time and is responsive. Setting up programs is easy, but I wish they had some more patterns to experiment with. I’m currently running one in a variety of pulsing programs and the second is in anti sync with the first.

They come apart easily which has been helpful if a snail gets in. But after dealing with a few snails I put the extra covers/fish guards on and haven’t had any snails get caught.

I got them over the vortechs because I like that I could mount them on a back wall of an AIO and I thought you could direct them. but you can’t really angle them more than 10-15°

I have two Nero 3s in my nano QT. I think for the price point totally worth it. Simple setup, wireless connectivity out of the box, connects everytime, good flow, easy to disassemble, tiny profile, and simple/clean software. I don't know how it would perform in a larger tank, but for a nano, it's been pretty darn good. Can't comment on durability since I haven't had them that long.

Yeah, I’m thinking more for dead spots in the tank.

You have vortechs now, right? I think it’s on the roadmap at AI/Ecotech to get these all on Mobius which makes it simpler than having a folder full of reefing apps. Nice QOL benefit, and hopefully it brings some additional modes too
 
Hi all, I'm thinking about getting a Nero 3 to add some extra flow to my tank. It looks pretty compact, and gives me the option to mount it on the wall of my AIO (which is went behind because of the AIO compartment.
  • Would this be too much pump for a 14G tank? The display portion of my tank is 16"LX12"WX13"H. So, something that is too big and ugly is not preferred.
  • The Nero 3 dimensions are listed as 1.54" X 2.25". Is that the full protrusion into the tank (the mount + powerhead) or is that just the thickness of the powerhead?
(I have an IM Nuvo 14 Penninsula)
 
i have 2 nero3 in a 4ft 65g. I like the flow so far. I run at max 80%. In addition i have 2 sicce 500+gph running constant. Pretty happy with this setup. For full disclaimer, i don;t have any coral yet. haha
