Say you wanted to temporarily cover the weirs (from the sides) of an overflow box (so it does not operate) with thin polycarbonate.
And you wanted to temporarily attach a 1/2" square acrylic bar across the top black trim of one side of a tank (width a bit less than 1/2").
What adhesive(s) would you use? Temporary.

In case I find out I hate it and need to try something else. : )
Making screens for a lowboy tank and also trying out covering weirs of internal overflow box to keep water out of there and to see if I like raising the water level a bit.

You could use plastic clamps. Won’t look beautiful but can hold a small acrylic bar in place. Easily removed later. Reef safe.

Right, but I also need it to go under top screens to keep in future fish. At the moment, I do have clamps like you say, though holding in a huge puff of floss so snails do not go into empty box. I don’t think my smallest clamps will fit diagonally under a screen, but that’s a good idea to try. I guess it doesn’t matter what I use to raise the back edge of the tank because it will not be underwater.
Thank you for your suggestion

You can also use reef safe silicon and then cut it off later with a razor blade.

I have like 50 zip ties holding netting on our big DT overflow to keep animals out :p, but this other tank's weir has no top edge. But...you gave me an idea for a use of mesh and zip ties elsewhere on this tank-in-progress...

Post a picture of the weir and overflow box. You are trying to completely block all of the weir?
