Alameda/Oakland Tank Tour Sechdule:

Date: May 10th
1.) @Michael Hans - Alameda
12pm-1255pm
2.) @Thales (Rich Ross) - Alameda
1pm-4pm
3.) Hightide Aquatics (@under_water_ninja Kenny)- Oakland
430pm- 630pm or Until Kenny decideds Kicks us all out.

The plan is to end the tour by with having a Lfs visit concluding with a simple Dinner afterwards (Sodas, Pizza, or sandwiches as an example.)

Let's be sure to support our LFS Partners by planning to buy something. For those that haven't been Kenny is renowned for being a humble approved quarantine fish vendor. Meaning you don't have to worry about any typical fish issues with fish purchased from him verse other places. So check out his available quarantined fish, coral, inverts, and section of dry goods.


Sorry for the short notice, we have been working a while now to identify a date that works for enough people to sechdule a tour.

In the not so distant future I expect we will also have 2 more tank tours in the east bay (Divided up based on proximity).

Hey if all you have is a 5 gallon bucket, a clamp on light, and a hob filter in that bucket and it's your tank you can show it.

The goal is not to just feature amazing show tanks. Important to remember as hobbyist we all start at different points, and use various equipment, methods, and have wide ranging budgets .

So if you would be willing to show your tanks don't let any of the concern my tank isn’t as nice as someone else’s prevent you from signing up.

Plenty of time to find a ride. A few of us are going from the southbay. I will probably have to join the tour slightly later due to prior commitment day.

Just to update everyone I have already made a schedule just waiting for those showing tanks to confirm the timeline works for them before updating the orginal thread here.

As a quick refrence point for those making plans the current start time that I suggested in the schedule is12pm in Alameda.

I'm in! We need to delineate "areas" better - Like San Leandro, I consider that Oak/Alameda - but it falls under Castro Valley/Hayward too I suppose? FINE, semantics... whatever.

load to youtube?

Or maybe do a full video recording or maybe a live so that others can following along?

I'm sure we will have a opportunity to learn alot from @Thales. Also I think those that can't make it would love to be able to still get some of the experience.

I bought a phone tripod I could bring to help with this. Not looking for anything of professional quality here so don’t let skills deter you if your willing to.

Just my personal opinion, but I’d rather not have the tours video recorded and publicly posted. I think it ruins the spontaneous and personal offline nature of the in person event. If we decide to do that I’ll probably just not attend (or watch the video).

Yes, I would love that if that's still on offer. I have twin 2 year olds and it's really hard to get to the south bay from Oakland. I feel like the PAR meter likes to lurk in the south bay.
