Oils in water surface..

Hi guys.. any trick n tips to get rid of oils on water surfaces??? I always wash my hand thoroughly before I put in the tank, but still have oil floating. Tia

What size tank are we talking? Are you in any way skimming the surface of the water, i.e. overflow box that goes to a sump or a hang on the back protein skimmer?

Yeah a surface skimmer will clear that right up

60 total.. i don't have surface skimmer yet, should I get one

Ido have hob skimmed..

If you have a HOB skimmer running, you may have some “dead spots” and adding surface agitation will help move the surface water around so the skimmer can get to it.

Water movement circulate in center of tank.. seems like doesn't like go to overflow... should i point power head to surface to create agitation?

I had this issue when I started feeding with Selcon, and I got an XP Aqua Sumpless ATO which also acts as a surface skimmer. Cleared right up
