The elegance i got from biota has some orange sponge growing on the base. Is this something anyone would be interested in putting in their tank? The sponge, not the catalaphyllia.

I scraped off the sponge, dipped the coral and let the spores dry out, maybe not long enough. It grew back in a week or so, this sponge is death proof so far.

Its a pretty bright orange under a fuller spectrum. This was taken at night with high blue/violet.

Sponges are really good. Throw them in your sump, low light area. Very beneficial for the health of your aquarium
Good call, I was worried the sponge would have more chance of reforming on the elegance if I left it in the system. In the sump sounds like a fine idea.

Im attempting to culture the sponge. I scraped the sponge off in as large of pieces as I could. Luckily some was growing on the super glue, that chipped off nice. I cut some rubble to fit in one of those nifty piss containers kenny gives when you buy his coral. I have an acclimation box in my sump where this sponge will hopefully do its thing.
