Reef nutrition

Please critique my Equipment/Tank post for sale.

I'm putting my fish tank of 18 months up for sale, but before I do an actual post, I'd like to have it looked at prior in doing so. Selling due to other life's responsibilities: early work hours ( have brothers feeding them ), work (promotion), gym after work and other activities. With a busy schedule I am unable to sit down and admire my tank. Located in Milpitas/North San Jose, here are specs and pictures of my tank. Edited by moderator. Thank you for your input! =)

I hate to burst your bubble because I'd love you to get that much, but I don't believe it will happen. The reality is there are always lots of used tanks available in EVERY area, and tanks and equipment just don't hold a lot of value. Usually, you can expect to realistically get about 30% of retail for a full system.

Unfortunately I feel like in this hobby set ups don’t hold their value so well. People are lucky if they get 50% back of what they put in. It might be worth it for you to sell things separately to get the most money back. Some of those items like the pumps and light resell pretty well. I would not expect to find a buyer anywhere near that price though. It’s obvious that tank has been taken care of well but it’s just the reality of this hobby

Hi @Mc13reezy

We had to edit this thread as only supporting members can sell items on our forum. You're welcome to ask feedback about how to best plan things, but you can't sell or price things here.

Personally this is what I would do if you have limited time for the tank:
Sell the skimmer, ReefMat, one of the MP10’s, Shrimp, Dendro, Trachy, and Blasto

Then.. let it ride as a low maintainance tank. No feeding. Could probably get away with monthly water changes. Only effort required would be occasional glass cleaning.

That would even allow you to consider adding more low/no maintenance corals in the future.
