I personally find the Red Sea test kits pretty reliable, I just hate color match Idea as they are so close together at the ULNS levels

Which is why I got Hanna checkers. It gives me a number rather than a shade of color.

I just wish they could do NO3, Mg, Iodine...(HC does not go low enough),...ect

Yet even with the Hanna Checkers you can get wide variables, and did the solution mix all the way did some of the reagent not all disperse from the syringe ect...but that is with all test kits..

Hanna does make a photometer for low range nitrate. 0-30ppm in 0.1 resolution. It's not a checker and it's not cheap.

The iodine photometer is pretty low range too. 0-12.5ppm.

Not normally, but has happened on occasion...if so you can get new bottles with caps
