Can't drop a flow sensor into a bucket or small test tank next to a powerhead to estimate flow?

I don’t think it would be anywhere near accurate. The flow monitors attach to the plumbing where 100% of the water passes through it. If you were to hold it in front of a pump only a small amount of the water would pass through it. A gyre pump would be even worse since it’s flow is more linear.
