Removed the fluval 205 canister filter and replaced it with an external ehiem 1048 to run the chiller. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I had to use sprinkler fittings from home cheapo. Where do you buy elbows and other plastic plumbing parts locally?

1 year later battling alk, ca, mg levels, I think I got it now. Everything is doing ok, one piece is receding from the base and another from the tip down. Ordered a phoenix 14k 250w DE bulb to replace my ushiro 20k+. Stuff is gonna really start growing now!

Oops IIRC the 3rd volume cover is a photo montage.

Charles Delbeek (co-author) informed me it is indeed a montage, not 100%, but it is one. Vol #2 is 100% a montage. Both covers were done by Julian's brother using Photoshop

Got three more pieces from neptune yesterday. Monti Python, Blue Smurf acro, Purple Rain acro.

Removed most of the sand, installed a new overflow, moved some rocks and corals around. Corals fared ok being out of the water, had the live rock just sitting on the floor. Didn't take out the bottom three rocks and didn't get all the sand. Only corals that show any issue are two birdsnests with bleached tips. Everything else is doing good, just needs more brown.
