First I want to thank Susan for the great deal on the tank that started this all!
The tank is only days away from water and beginning a cycle,
Details on the journey to date.
100G tank from Susan Ingram,
I went to work and designed and fabricated a 2X2 square steel tube stand and skinned it in 3/4" maple plywood
20 Gal sump built form a 20 long tank
Red Sea RL 90 LED lighting (2) (may add a third once I measure PAR to support SPS )
2 MP40QD's and DC return pump
dual overflows into sump
titanium heater
simplicity 240DC skimmer
180 lbs of oohlite aragonite sand for DSB, with a 1" top layer of 1-2 mm aragonite
100 lbs of dry rock glued, pinned, and attached to 2 3/4" stands which were siliconed to the bottom of the tank prior to adding sand
I will place the remaining small rubble of rock in the sump / fuge for additional surface and a pod propogation area
I will fabricate the light mounts in the next few days
photos will be posted in a few days once water is in and lights are mounted.
