Neptune Aquatics

Ryan’s 40G first reef

my tank is over 3 years old and i still have patches of gha on the back glass of my tank. some on rocks that my cuc cant reach, so don't feel bad. i have like 6 urchins and tons of snails and hermits (i bought the reefcleaners 120g package x2). i do run high nutrients and high par.

That makes me feel less stressed about GHA.

Some positive news: my purple stylo has grown 2 branches and a monti has started encrusting on its frag plug. I guess I can grow some sps, just not acros yet. My acros are neither improving nor getting worse.

Can you get a pic of that algae? If you can block some light with one hand and take photo with other hand it might block the blue without messing with your lighting.

Looks like it’s a lot of Ulva. But I second Eric it really isn’t to much. It can be hard to wait it out when your the one looking at it every day. But this phase should clear up.

Just have to tie your laces together because it may seem like you need to overreact and take a huge step but really small strides are what’s going to get you there faster. Rushing through anything in this hobby tends to cause more problems in the long run.

Now that’s my tank is setup with enough fish and starter corals to placate myself, I can wait for the uglies to burn themselves out. I’ll stay the course.

Hitting a few bumps in the road. :( YWG never found my pistol shrimp (nor have I in weeks) and stayed out in the open. I found him passed yesterday. Firefish disappeared after I repositioned my wave maker and hasn't been seen in days. Six line is attempting to murder a clownfish.

Salifert PO4 test arrived and when I went to test, it was missing the reagent spoon. Waited a week for this to show up and its missing parts brand new. Frustrating. Will I ever know my PO4 before it all gets vacuumed up to GHA?

Like I’ve said…
We are the best $30 investment you’ve made in your reefing journey
I $upport our club and I’ve already gotten more than $300 in value so far in like 3 months. (Par meter, cheap frags, free cheato, cheap rocks, free egg crate, etc)

A little happier news, my carpet surfing clown is swimming and eating just fine. He’s now lived 26H since jumping. I’m dosing SeaChem StressGuard daily.

Stop with the dosing
Just keep the environment optimal
Lucky fish that you were around to prevent a fatal life choice

Clown is starting to heal up so I did a 20G WC today. Turbo snail bulldozed my green slimmer while I was on vacation and it died face down in the sand.
Second Amazon salifert test kit came, still no spoon included.

Come pick it up. It's been on my porch for days now
