Yep.

In a way, a bigger part of the problem was me getting more into SPS than I expected.

The original plan was more emphasis on fish and then "mostly softies."
And softies/lps grow great with my LEDs.
It is just those little colored pointy sticks that are proving to be a hassle.

Fortunately - I love to tinker, so it is just another opportunity to fiddle with things.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. I guess you can take the skater out of the park but not the park out of the skater...... it sounded better in my head

Yeah, not the best shape for that.
But plenty long. So all you would need is some ply at the ends.
Then maybe connect a rail to those pipes, on the transition from shallow to deep end....

It is really more of a lap pool, hence the odd shape.

You could make the transition if one end was 3 feet and the other was like 10. You could hit it once either frontside or back, bit not both. Back in the day...

I have been improving my controller a bit lately.

I have a fairly nice page with all the data logged now.
Not that fancy, but really helps tell me if something goes wrong.

The sump level is part of a grand scheme of automatic salt water changes.
To do that right I really wanted something more than the simple float switches.

I used this etape liquid level sensor. But I have to say I am not very happy with it.
Resolution is not very good, and it really only works for a usable 4" or so.
The bottom end does not register at all.

Funny to admit, but I did think of doing an outdoor ATS, but
since it is LED based, not really worth the hassle.

An outdoor ATS might be an idea for the pool though.
It will be low-chlorine, with UV being main sterilization, so might work.
Oh - and I hear an ATS will make you swim faster.

New additions:
2 new ocellaris clownfish and a longnose hawkfish.
I thought about the fancy designer clownfish, but decided against it.

He was pretty pale when I first bought him.
I fed him quite a bit of Spirulina fortified brine shrimp in QT,
and he really colored up nicely.

Now I am watching to see how compatible he is with the tank.
Seems like most of the time they are fine, but can sometimes decide
that the hermit crabs and shrimp are too tasty to pass up.

Power Usage

Another huge bill from PG&E.
So I have been going around the house with a KWH meter, measuring real power use,
and thought I would share the tank values. No surprises.
Need a gas/solar heater on of these days.
Perhaps a more efficient return pump.
