anyone use seachem reef salt? What do you think compared to IORC?
[/quote]
Quality wise (consistency with ca/alk/mag/pH)would you find the SeaChem Reef salt comparable to regular IO, or IORC? Or some other brand of salt?
Sorry to ask you all these questions - but you're the only one I know who has experience with it, thanks!
I use it for work and my tanks seem to like it, It's made in the same plant as IORC. One thing though if you run a two-part or a Ca reactor it is out of balance for that type of setup. It's better for light duty reefs that don't need a lot of supplementation where your relying more on water changes for alk/ca/mag.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the salt Jeremy.
Why would dosing throw SeaChem Reef salt chemically off balance more so than other salts, say like IORC? I wasn't really planning on dosing two part in this new tank like I was in my last tank ... I was hoping 10% water changes every other week would keep alk/ca/mag up.

Then it's a good salt for you, if you run a reactor or two part then the Sea Chem will raise your #s and make for a PITA dialing thins in, where a salt that matches your parameters makes it a no brainer

man.. that salt cost more than IO/RC ..

The Sea Chem? I get it for $35 a bucket at AC, bought some today.

How does the SeaChem reef salt compare to say IORC in your opinion? About equal then?
Also, has anyone ever considered adding 2 part to your weekly water change water, rather than adding it into the tank?
