I talked to kessil today and they said that my problem could definitely be from the light that’s over 7 years old. Excited to hook up new light but realized it’s missing the power source so I have to order that now-never easy

Ok, so I just used the clubs par meter with my Kessil A360x lighting on 100% intensity 60 Blue... With the mesh lid on here's what I got. Is there a better mesh lid that lets more light in, I was shocked to see how much less light it actually gets with the lid on, but I dont wanna lose any more fish!

I guess now I know why the zoas have been reaching... NOT ENOUGH LIGHT?!?!? Crazy that i have it cranked to 100% at these readings, Im gonna acclimate my lights up to 100% apparently... Currently my bottom row is at 40-48 with 70% Intensity
 
So I got a new mesh DIY lid and look at the difference! Hoping to reach higher par[emoji1417]

Ok so I’m increasing my lights! Need to go from 85% for four hours to 100% for six hours ramping up and down for an hour so total of eight and see where that puts me... my question is how slow should I raise the time and power of the lights and how do I prevent algae spikes which I’m already seeing? If it’s a bigger CUC-what suggestions because I’m scared of crabs now not wanting them to pick on my precious zoas. Here’s a picture iPhone style of the algae

I’m so close to getting an emerald crab or two... I havent been able to rid the bubble algae... Bad idea???

whats your no3 and po4 at? emerald crabs are a hit or miss with those bubble algae. as for the sea lettuce, maybe try to pluck them carefully and get some trochus snails in there. lawnmower bleeny, sea hare, tuxedo urchin might help. do you run a refugium? macro algae in your sump can fight the battle for nuisance algae in the dt.
