Separating the magnet from the wav pump??

Ok as the wav stalled I took it out of the tank but doing so the wav magnet is now attached to the back of it like glue!

Just concerned that I will either rip the back of the wav off or impale my fingers.

Any suggestions on how to separate?

push the magnet off sideways, don't pull.

Twist while pulling sideways to get the magnet's polarity off alignment.

When I got two dry side Algae Free scrapers stuck, I had to put one end in a vice clamp and use another face clamp to get enough leverage to twist off the other. For a while I thought I was screwed.
