shopping for SEAHORSES! :)

I've decided to order seahorses online for my new seahorse tank. I'll be ordering them in a few months and I'm currently looking for sites that sell dwarfs. I found two sites and I want your opinions on which to order them form. The two sites are below...

http://www.floridacollector.com/hitchingpost.htm

http://www.mariculturetechnology.com/Livestock.htm

The Hitching Post sells them $5 each or $20 for a pregnant male and two with undetermined genders. I'd order the ones that are $5 each. On the other site, Livestock, they sell them $12 each with undetermined gender. I'm pretty sure they're both in Florida so there is no shipping difference and the both ship first class. Which of those sites do you think I should order from? does anybody know of any other site I can buy dwarfs from?

Or you can see if one of the local LFS's will be selling. There was mention in the other thread you posted to that Derek has a seahorse tank;)

You might pm TikiDan on Reef Central too. He is in the North Bay and typically hangs around on the NorthCoast reef club forum. I know he had a seahorse tank up and running for a while. He might be able to give you some good ideas.

Also, I'm slightly worried about feeding the dwarfs. It says on most sites they require live baby brine shrimp that are home-hatched. I found on one site that they will take regular brine shrimp, too. What else can I feed them that is healthier than brine shrimp? When I've tried to raise brine shrimp before (including when I got a sea monkeys kit) they just died in a week and smelled really bad. Can I feed them quarter-grown frozen (that I'll thaw) brine shrimp/mysis shrimp?

i seen sea horses at aquarium concepts all the time when ive gone... check them out..
if you order online make sure they have an arive live garuntee. ive seen some places dont have it..

I've been to aquarium concepts twice. The first time I went to look around. I saw they had a pipe fish so I thought they may stock seahorses from time to time but the probably rarely ever stock dwarfs. The second time I went into the store I was looking for RBTA and saw a few 8"-10" RBTA which they should probably still have since they priced it at $350. I don't like their prices. I'll give them a call later and ask if they ever get in dwarfs... or I could just run over to their sponsor forums right now and ask them! :D

Like I stated before on the other thread Ocean Treasures has the dwarfs in stock right now. They have a tank setup with a brine shrimp hatchery as well.

Yes in a way. They are referred to as the easiest seahorse to keep and good for first time seahorse keepers which is why I decided to get dwarfs. They aren't classified as easy to keep but they aren't so hard that only experts can keep them. They just require a lot more extra care than a fish would. If you're thinking about getting seahorses try dwarfs. They are very cute!

OK so I've just made a deal to buy a brine shrimp hatchery which I'll be picking up at the BAYMAC. Any tips on hatching my own brine shrimp? What do I feed them?

You can try calling but I do recall seeing a different seahorse at Ocean Treasures. Not the dwarfs on the counter but where all the inverts and small fish usually are.
