So bought this with the thought of placing it on side of the 40 gallon tank. It's narrow enough so that it won't block any side views of the tank.

1.) I plan to try to diy a mounting board in the top section where larger glass door is making a type of false wall to not only mount hydros gear but to display them in style.

2.) The bottom of the stand will be ato reservoir.

3.) The center glass door area maybe fish
Food and other daily used stuff for tank.

I saw a few examples on reef 2 reef and such.

Would love to see pictures of your projects and or insights with this diy project.

Very timely post. I had a bit of a skimmer incident yesterday while I was travelling back from a work trip from LA, and need to get a controller board put together ASAP.

My thoughts are currently using a cabinet with drawers which I have seen someone doing which really impressed me. Not sure if it was someone in this club or somewhere else.

I actually just built a cabinet with the idea of a fake wall a month ago. I used corner braces and magnets to make a removable fake wall for easier maintenance. It's nice that you can hide most of the cords and adapters in the cabinet behind the walls. Not the perfect cut for the controller board but it works
