Silencing Skimmer Pump

I recently picked up a Bubble Magnus NAC 3.5, so far it has been doing good but I see the pump that sits underneath the cone touches the base of the sump so the pump vibration passes to the sump and its a bit buzzing.

I'm looking for ideas on something like a thin rubber pad that I can place under the skimmer to reduce the vibration. I can throw in any rubbery pad but want to know what is reef safe so it doesn't leech any chemical into my water.

Nope I don't remember seeing any holes.

When i forst started i kept a Silicon Trivet underneath the skimmer to prevent vibration noise.

Went to bed bath and beyond and bought a green one. Worked great. Then i raised my skimmer on egg crate and had no use for the trivet.

Thats what im talking about. Made of silicone you have to google if its reef safe but i think i got the idea from reefcentral.

Nav, I have some anti-mold, thick, black foam if you want to use it.

I've used it for m return pump without issues.

+1 for silicon pads.

I put a silicon mat all along the bottom of my return chamber to handle vibrations from my DC9000. Worked great, never had a problem. Anything food grade for cooking is usually reef safe.

I think you can generally assume if it was made for contact with food it won't have any anti mildew stuff. If it was made for the bathroom (like a soap dish) it probably does.
