Hello all !
I'd appreciate some guidance; my elderly neighbors have been paying Comcast about $180 a month just to be able to watch TFC The Filipino Channel; the bundled service includes phone service, a cable box and I believe they are being charged internet service without them using it AT ALL (sales people may have just done some elderly abuse here)
I'm looking into buying them a new smart TV that I can download the app to stream TFC and have them hire a budget ISP
Yesterday there was an outage in the area and the cable box will not work at all; Can you believe that Comcast is trying to charge them for a technician to come and fix the faulty equipment?? C'mon man, that's nor right in any sense...
Anyhow, appreciate any recommendations on a decent TV set so they can watch TFC again

Very kind of you to help your neighbors. A lot of companies offer senior citizens special rates on services. I know Comcast has senior citizens plans. Pg&e has Lifeline discounts. They can even get a free iPhone if they are income qualified. I would start by asking all their utilities companies for senior citizens discounts. Good luck!

at some point Comcast had a employee escalation number, for emplyees to give out to friends and family not sure if its still works , it's a higher end tier of customer service try calling the "We’re On It" number at 1-855-869-7188 or Xfinity Official Escalation Line: 1-866-240-3377 — Explicitly state "I want to escalate to a supervisor" when the prompt picks up. They helped my elderly mom and dad before.

Thanks for the info; I'll relay it.
