got ethical husbandry?

Sochting Oxydator

I was wondering if any one had any experience with these? Seems like a pretty simple solution to keep algae in control and clearing water. Was wondering why they aren't used by more folks.

Thanks

Havent heard about that piece of equipment.

I had hair algae for the longest time which did not seem to go away. I almost broke down my tank.

it started when I changed from kessil350 to the brighter kessil360we.

I thought it was never going to go away. Had it for months but after running GFO, Carbon, protein skimmer, good water changes, algaefx, and lastly a bunch of hermits and turbo snails. I feel like ive beaten it. My nitrate and phosphate levels were close to 0 for the entire period.

It didnt seem beatable but alas it is gone.

This sight shows stock. Amazon sells it but only has stock on the mini version.

Apparently it's used a bunch in Europe and there is a pretty long ongoing thread at Nano-reef. Just makes too much sense, up oxygen levels to oxidize all the bad stuff and little to nothing for algae to feed of off. Also the higher oxygen levels promote healthier fish. Wins all over the place.

Sorry, was going off this: http://www.aquariumoxygenator.com/

With import items. if there are stocking issues, historically those products ends up going dodo, or support is so poor in terms of replacement parts, etc, people shy away from them after getting burned. Deltec and H&S can tell you all about.

Too much oxygen will kill corals FWIW. Unlike fish, they have a lower thresh hold for really high DO. This is why corals shut down after reaching peak photosynthesis, well, one of the reasons.
