Super-quiet skimmer recommendations?

Do you have the bk mini 180? I'm guessing that mean I would buy the 180mm aquadriver helix. Did you get the optional wash down ring as well?

I've used quite a few skimmers and while most are quiet, nothing is like a BK with an RD3. It's literally silent. Not super quiet or 'like' silent, it IS silent.

Only noise I get from it is when the cup is full and I have bubbles coming out of the vent holes and they pop.

But everything is relative, I do have water noise in my sump and it may be drowning out whatever little noise the skimmer may be making.

I would say it's quiet but not silent. I can hear it with my stand doors closed. Low hum. Depends on the ambient noise how much you hear it.

You have the mini 180. That has an AC pump. Its the versions with the D.C. pump that I'm referring to.

I used to fret about noise before I got the tank going. But now I realize it is pretty hard to be louder than screaming toddlers.

I got both the helix and flush. I have bk mini 200. The wash down isn't necessary but it's nice to be able to flush the cup.
